This latest quarter-dollar is the first of the 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters® and the sixteenth since the series launched in 2010. It features a reverse design, by Phebe Hemphill, that is emblematic of White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire.

Specifically, the design depicts Mount Chocorua, the easternmost peak of the Sandwich Range. Framing the mountain are birch trees. Surrounding the image are the inscriptions WHITE MOUNTAINNEW HAMPSHIRE2013 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

Coin collecting products released by the US Mint include rolls and bags of White Mountain quarters with ‘P’, ‘D’ and ‘S’ mint marks. The mint marks represent the United States Mint responsible for producing the coins. These facilities are located in Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco.

A breakdown of the available White Mountain quarter coin collecting products and their prices follow.

COLLECTING PRODUCT MINT MARK PRICE
Two-Roll Set (40 coins per roll) "P" and "D" $32.95
100-Coin Bag "P," "D" or "S" $34.95
Single Roll (40 coins) "S" $18.95
Three-Roll Set "P," "D" and "S" $46.95

Each of the White Mountain quarters are in circulating-quality. However, their condition should be better than most of the quarters found later in circulation since they went from U.S. Mint production floors straight to packaging. Additionally, while the San Francisco minted White Mountain quarters are in circulating-quality, they will not be found in circulation as they are produced specifically for coin collectors.

This year the US Mint introduced its three-roll set. At $46.95, it is the least expensive way to get quantities of circulation quality quarters from the three US Mint facilities.

To place orders for the White Mountain quarters in rolls and bags, visit the US Mint website at www.usmint.gov/catalog, or call 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).

Four other 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters launch this year. They honor:

  • Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial of Ohio
  • Great Basin National Park of Nevada
  • Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine of Maryland
  • Mount Rushmore National Memorial of South Dakota
