The 2011 American Eagle Silver Uncirculated coin started off strong in its first few days on the market, the latest United States Mint sales stats revealed.

Also, the stats show that several annual sets experienced improved week-over-week numbers, but one product in the line-up lost over 2,000 from its sales total.
First up is news about the Mint’s highest collector product seller for the week. The uncirculated Silver Eagle debuted with 184,967 orders between its launch on Thursday, September 15 and Monday, September 19. Since there are no household limits for the uncirculated coin and its new, sales should remain solid.
The American Eagle Silver Proof was among 52 products that outperformed their prior week’s sales. 5,785 sold in this round compared to 5,081 previously. But, the popular proof strike was #3 on the top-seller chart. Besides the debuting uncirculated coin, the only other product to beat the proof Eagle was the 2011 Proof Set with a gain of 7,218. Its increase was significant, considering it only rose by 4,063 previously.
The item whose sales total was ruptured with a 2,132 decrease was the West Point strike of the 9/11 Silver Medal. Its total fell from 101,259 down to 99,127. Possible reasons for the decline could be returns, cancellations, problem orders, or an accounting adjustment. In the last report, the silver medal from West Point added 2,348.
Demand for bullion coins eased over the last six days. The bullion American Silver Eagle advanced by 478,500 compared to 751,000 previously, and the one ounce American Gold Eagles picked up 6,000 versus 20,000 in the last report. The one tenth ounce Gold Eagle was the next largest gainer with 5,000, but its prior increase had been 15,000.
