US Mint Gold and Platinum Coins Values & Prices
The US Mint introduced the American Eagle Proof program in 1986 when the Gold and Silver Eagles were launched. The Platinum Eagle issues began in 1997. Uncirculated versions were also launched. Collector 24-karat American Buffalo Gold coins were issued beginning in 2006. Finally, the one-year-only 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coins made their debut.
The tables below shows the US Mint prices for these collector coins, their intrinsic precious metal values, premiums over those values, and the very latest US Mint sales figures. It's important to note that these coins shown are the collector versions with the "W" mint mark -- not the bullion options the Mint distributes through authorized dealers who then sell to the public.
The spot prices may be changed, which will automatically update each of the coin tables below. Also, for information on each Mint product, visit COINS.
