U.S. Mint bullion coin sales retreated in July.
Bullion coin movements occurred during a month in which U.S. gold prices rose 0.6% and silver prices advanced 1.1%.
In the category of 22-karat American Eagle Gold, sales plunged to 30,500 ounces in July from 60,000 ounces in June. 64,500 ounces moved during the same time one year ago. The following offers the numbers by month and the totals so for this year:

Finally, and as mentioned, July bullion coin sales of America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coins were much improved at 18,700 coins versus the prior month’s 7,900 — that had been the best monthly amount of 2012. Sales were supported by the release of the Acadia coin, the third 2012-dated releases this year.
