DMPLs (Deep Mirror Proof-Like) Morgan Dollars Are Hot - NumisMaster

The market in DMPL (deep mirror proof-like) Morgan dollars is just plain insatiable. Prices have been continually moving up and demand keeps increasing. The generic side of the market continues the softer trend that we saw last month with common-date gold losing much of its premium over melt. Common date $20 Saint-Gaudens in Mint State-63 are only a little more than $100 over the bullion price and MS-64s about $150 higher.

Morgan Dollar Values - Susan’s Coin Blog

Morgan Dollars are a little tougher to give average values for because many dates of Morgan Dollars never circulated in large numbers.  Instead, they were sold by the Treasury Department more or less directly to coin collectors.

The Case of the Missing 300 Silver Dollars, or What In The World Is Something Like That Doing In A Place Like This, likely will never be solved. That they were actually uncovered is astonishing enough, but to find out why 300 Morgan silver dollars from 1887 in mint condition were under a foot of hardened soil on former Amarillo Mayor Jerry Hodge’s property, well, let your imagination be your guide.

Our story begins June 11. Plumbers were digging a trench to run utilities for a pool house and swimming pool on property Hodge had purchased adjacent to his home on Oldham Circle in Amarillo.

1928 Peace Dollar a Close Second in MS-60 - NumisMaster

The most surprising Peace dollar date would have to be the 1928. In almost every respect the 1928 is not what one would expect, making it a very interesting date to study and an even better date to own.

It is natural to expect that the Philadelphia Peace dollar mintages would be high since it came from the main facility. That was usually the case.
