Egyptian Sand in Wonders of the World Coins - Coin News

Sand from the Great Pyramid of Giza has been encapsulated within silver and gold commemorative coins featuring the Wonders of the Modern World.

The 2008 proof commemoratives were minted on behalf of the Isle of Man Government by the Pobjoy Mint, who has become known for their innovative approach to modern coin issues, and minted the world’s first pyramid shaped coin in 2007.

Celebrating the Spitfire - NumisMaster

The Spitfire is considered one of the most famous combat aircraft of all time, and the Pobjoy Mint has recently announced the release of a commemorative coin celebrating the 70th birthday of its first flight.

Originally designed by R.J. Mitchell, the British single-seat fighter was used by the Royal Air Force and many other allied countries during the Second World War.
