The latest United States Mint sales report revealed initial demand for several coin collecting products containing the latest design in the America the Beautiful Quarter series.
Debut sales are in for the Acadia Quarter Three Coin Set, shown above, and other coin collecting products featuring the new quarter
Last week, the 2012 Acadia quarter debuted in 100-Coin Bags, Two-Roll Sets, and Three-Coin Sets. It was Two-Roll Sets that garnered the most attention.
Collectors exhibited slightly less excitement for bags and rolls filled with the newest Acadia quarter release than for the previous issue, the Chaco Culture quarter. Acadia’s two-roll set debuted on the scene with 15,530 orders between its launch on June 11 and June 18. Its 100-coin bag from Philadelphia started with 2,177 followed by the 100-coin bag from Denver with 2,163.
As a comparison, the Chaco quarter opened in April with a little bit higher inaugural sales. 16,338 two-roll sets sold plus 2,332 Philadelphia bags and 2,288 Denver Bags were ordered during their first few days of availability.
The one product to [barely] start higher than the previous issue was the Three-Coin Set. Between June 12 and June 18, collectors scooped up 10,701 Acadia National Park Quarter Three-Coin Sets versus 10,666 Chaco Quarter Sets purchased between April 17 and April 23.
As a reminder, the Acadia quarter is set for its ceremonial release on Tuesday, June 26.

The first three columns of the table provide weekly United States Mint sales increases between the listed time periods, offering a sense of recent trends. The final column provides the latest United States Mint sales totals as of Monday, June 18, 2012. *The exception is the 2012-S Proof Silver Eagle Two-Coin Set, which is current as of Wednesday, June 20 as of 3 PM ET.
