The newspaper story sounded like a great deal: "Free armored safes being doled out to the public," the headline said. And they're stocked with "4,100 brilliant, never-circulated U.S. Govt. issued coins that by law will never be minted again." Wow.

The story even featured a picture of a delighted senior from Perry Town, Ohio taking delivery of her waist-high steel vault from the very official-sounding "World Reserve." Problem is, the item wasn't a news story. It was a full-page ad...

BIG MISTAKE!! Ordered the safe myself, and was told I would receive 4,000 uncirculated Buffalo Nickles. When my order came, I received 500 Monticello nickles instead. The company tried to tell me that that the Monticello’s were equal in value to or higher than the Buffalo nickles (LIARS!!!!). the “Red Book” tells a different story. the mintage is also much higher on the Monticello’s than on the Buffalo’s, for one thing, and the price difference is higher on the Buffalo’s than on the Monticello’s. I informed them of their mistake and told them not to send anything I did not order. They tried to tell me that over and over again, I told them I ordered 4,000 Buffalo Nickles as they were suppose to come with my safe, and did not, they sent the Monticello’s. After they figured out that they could not convince me to accept the Monticello nickles I was put on hold for about three minutes. When the lady returned to the phone from World Reserve I was told I ordered nickles in a set with both Buffalo and Monticello nickles (LIARS!!!!!). After a very heated discussion I was offered a couple of free gifts and an apology for the misunderstanding. I told World Reserve to keep their free gifts, that there was no misunderstanding. I ordered 4,000 Buffalo nickles. I was then told they have no access to the Buffalo nickles at this time. For me to cancel my order Iwould owe them $436.00 for the safe that was supposed to be free I was informed by World Reserve. WHAT A SCAM!!!! I have yet to receive one Buffalo nickle.

Unsatisfied Customer,
These ads are definitely scams, they claim that they’re giving you high-priced merchandise for next to nothing. But in reality, the quality of the goods is cheap and you’re paying through the nose for them. They accomplish this by blatantly misleading the customer, it’s wrong and no respectable paper worth their salt should ever sell-out and run one of these scams.
Yes, they said they were selling Bison nickels (misleading) but if you look closely, they actually mention that these coins are westward journey nickels. The West-journey editions were made in 2004-2006 and only really worth face value. The picture of the coins does indeed show nickels with buffalos on the back (again misleading) but they’re clearly the westward journey nickels.
I followed the link you put up by the way, and a commentor mentioned that the same company offers a deal where you can get just the safe for three hunded + S&H. But the safes are complete shite and not even worth that. I urge anyone and everyone to stay from this ad for any reason. For the same money you send to these scammers, you can pick up a safe of twice the quality at wal-mart and coins that can actually appreciate in value at your local coin store in addition.

BIG SCAM? YES!!! After reading the postings here I also cancelled my order but was told it just shipped out the day I cancelled the order. The tracking number given to me for UPS and Yellow Freight were bogus so I couldn’t refuse the shipment at the origin. I was given the run around about the status of the shipment and tracking numbers until UPS arrived at my door and Yellow Freight called then I got the actual tracking numbers. I was then able to refuse shipment and was told I would receive a total refund plus shipping since I never actually received the items. I check my credit info and found out $200.00 deducted from my refund for shipping the items. I called to see what was up with the $200 charge and was told it was to cover the free shipping costs….lol Shipping isn’t free if you decided to return the items even if you cancel while items order are still sitting on their shipping dock. Sometimes you learn your lesson the hard way….Sounds to go to be true it probably is. USA Today shouldn’t place full page SCAM ads that look like a news article.

called same number offer was 500 and some .I collect coins so i figured i would call to see what kind of deal was 500 like 20 i figured they might be worth up to maybe 800 dollars and that would be to much. what they asked for is $346 down and nine payments of $191.21 and you can not cancell or you have to send the safe back ore pay for it. figure total $2066.89 now that’s a free safe.
