New Auction Records Set at Stack’s CoinFest Sale! - CoinLink

On November 7, Stamford, Connecticut played host to the second annual CoinFest show, the largest regional coin show in the New York metropolitan area. Stack’s, the official auctioneer of the event, proudly showcased The Haverford Collection. This sale featured two exciting collections of U.S. paper money, along with a nice selection of U.S. coins to complete this well-rounded offering.

Up first was the Haverford Collection, a diverse and high quality group of obsolete proof notes that sent prices soaring to an all-time high. Breaking records at every turn, the sale of the Haverford collection proved that the market for obsolete proof notes, as well as other specialized paper money niches, is more robust than ever.

1801 $10 gold piece heads Stack’s sale - Numismatic News

An 1801 Bass Dannreuther-2, T-25, Capped Bust $10 gold piece graded MS-65 by Numismatic Guaranty Corp. attracted a bid of $201,250 to lead the prices realized list for Stack’s 73rd anniversary sale Oct. 22. Overall, the sale realized $5,074,315.20. Prices realized include a 15 percent buyer’s fee for each lot.

Stack’s Autumn Sale Nets over $2 Million! - CoinLink

Two weeks ago, Stack’s held its annual Autumn Sale, a carefully selected group of coins geared towards both the advanced collector and the budding numismatist. The Autumn Sale took place on September 24, 2008 in New York and proffered an impressive offering of U.S. coins that featured many classic rarities as well as a nice selection of more affordable numismatic properties.

A pleasing assortment of popular and affordable colonial issues paved the way for a sharp 1793 Wreath cent that had the details of an EF-45 or better coin; it brought a strong $19,550, an excellent start to the sale.

Next Stack’s sale features Morgans - Numismatic News

A key 1889-CC Morgan dollar graded MS-61 will be among the highlights of the next Stack’s Rare Coins auction slated for Sept. 24 at the firm’s auction gallery at 110 W. 57th St. in New York City.

The coin is described as having “nice eye appeal and a lack of notable bagmarks,” and is one of the most sought after issues of the entire Morgan series.

Superior Galleries, Bowers and Merena Auctions, and Stack’s opens activity - Coin Values

The market resumed its strong momentum in pre-American Numismatic Association convention trading at auctions conducted by Superior Galleries, Bowers and Merena Auctions, and Stack’s.

Superior’s auction was up first, starting the morning of July 26. Superior has been in the coin field since 1931, but in recent years has gone through a series of ownership changes.

Stacks hits $5.9 million - Numismatic News

An example of the first variety of the first U.S. gold $10 coin sold for $402,500 in Stack’s May 21-22 auction of the Minot collection, a sale that totaled about $5,939,000.

The 1795 $10, classified as Bass-Dannreuther 1 and Taraszka 1, with small eagle reverse and 13 leaves below the eagle, was graded MS-63 by Professional Coin Grading Service with Certified Acceptance Corp. sticker.

Stack’s catalogers traced the eagle’s pedigree to their May 1970 sale of the Gaston DiBello collection as well as a July 1983 auction.
