The picturesque village of Cannonsburg visited history and actually made some of its own as it led the way with a “change” campaign using the new presidential dollar coins.
Three retail establishments in Cannonsburg, the Cannonsburg Beverage Mart, Grist Mill and the Honey Creek Inn exclusively used the new gold dollar coin instead of bills. The owner of the businesses, Don Kurylowicz, wanted to help the U.S. Mint with their campaign to have Americans become accustomed to using dollar coins.
