As the holidays draw near, demand for several United States Mint annual sets increases. That was certainly the trend in the latest sales, especially for the 2011 Proof set. It dominated with more sales than the next three top selling products put together.
2011 Proof Set
In one week, customers brought the 2011 Proof Set up by 20,997. Now at 973,878 in sales, the proof set is poised to pass the one million milestone, if it hasn't already. The second and third top sellers for the United States Mint were the 2011 Silver Proof Set with 7,306 orders and the 2011 Mint Set with 6,808 orders. All three sets performed better than the prior round for the second straight week.
Demand also grew for the 2011 Uncirculated Silver Eagles. 5,142 were purchased, making it the fourth best seller. Previously, 2,784 Eagles sold. The latest sales addition pushed the Eagles' total to the brink of a major milestone, which will most likely be crossed in next week's report. The current total reached 199,848.
In bullion news, the United States Mint's best seller slowed down. November's total for the American Silver Eagles rung in at 1,384,000 and was recorded as the slowest month so far in the year. It was also the slowest month for the one ounce Gold Eagle that had just 38,500 in sales.

The first three columns of the table below provide weekly United States Mint sales increases between the listed time periods, offering a sense of recent trends. The final column provides the latest United States Mint sales totals as of Monday, November 28, 2011.
