2010 Yosemite National Park Quarter Bags and RollsInstead of trying to find the new Yosemite National Park Quarter in everyday change or visiting the local bank, anyone can now order bags and rolls of the coins directly from the United States Mint.

Doing so will guarantee the third 25-cent pieces issued in the America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program will be delivered directly to the buyer's door -- and from both Mints that produce them, if so desired. But there is a cost.

The Mint products include premiums.

The U.S. Mint on Monday, July 26, made available 100-coin bags and two-roll sets of the 2010 Yosemite National Park Quarter for respective prices of $35.95 and $32.95. On the same day, the quarter-dollars were also released into circulation.

(The joint US Mint and National Park Service ceremonial release is set for Thursday at the park itself. Anyone in attendance can exchange $10 bills for rolls. Children 18 and under will receive one for free.)

Since the two-roll sets include 80 coins in total -- 40 struck in Philadelphia and 40 made in Denver -- the premium to buy them is $12.95. There is a bonus with the rolls in that they are wrapped in US Mint packaging collectors prefer, versus the standard coin wraps found around typical rolls of quarters.

The premium for a 100-coin bag is less at $10.95. Buyers may order canvas bags filled with quarters from either the Denver or Philadelphia Mint facility.

The Yosemite products are found on the Mint's website (www.usmint.gov) or may be purchased through the number 1-800-USA-Mint. A $4.95 shipping and handling charge is added to all domestic orders.

The Yosemite reverse design, by Joseph Menna, features the park's El Capitan, the largest monolith of granite in the world. It was sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. The obverse side continues to depict George Washington.
